On QN’s Radar — 14–20 September 2026

The week ahead is dominated by major game releases and Tokyo Game Show, with Meta Connect and a demanding new PC release already visible just beyond it.

OUT THIS WEEK

15 September: Marvel’s Wolverine

Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine arrives on PS5 on Tuesday. Its feature set is already well documented, including more than 100 accessibility options. What matters next is how the finished game performs at launch, whether any unusual accessibility or consumer issues emerge, and what players discover once they are beyond the pre-release footage.

Diablo IV also starts Season of Hell’s Legacy on Tuesday as its Switch 2 version arrives. Blizzard has already announced Diablo V for 2029, which puts the current game in an unusual transition period without meaning Diablo IV support is ending.

16 September: Capcom Spotlight

Capcom’s roughly 40-minute broadcast begins at 15:00 BST with Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override and Street Fighter 6 on the bill. Ascendance then moves straight into its first public playable showing at Tokyo Game Show. The interesting part is whether the broadcast or public demo reveals something substantive about combat, performance, difficulty, weapons or release timing rather than simply adding another trailer to the pile.

17 September: Tokyo Game Show, Xbox and WoW: Forever

Tokyo Game Show opens on Thursday and runs through 21 September. Xbox’s dedicated TGS broadcast airs at 11:00 BST the same day, promising games coming to the platform, new gameplay and TGS-specific material. World of Warcraft: Forever also enters beta on Thursday. The beta matters because it is the first broader chance to see whether Blizzard’s level-60 progression plans hold up in player hands, particularly around item pacing, raid relevance and long-term incentives.

20 September: PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct

The PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct airs on Sunday at 17:00 BST with more than 35 games, world premieres, exclusive trailers and developer interviews. For PC players, it is the broadest single showcase left on this week’s calendar. Its value will come from the individual reveals that stand out, rather than treating the whole programme as one story.

ON THE RADAR

23–24 September: Meta Connect

Meta Connect is the strongest non-gaming event immediately beyond this week. Meta says the two-day event will focus on AI technologies, AI glasses and VR. The things worth watching are concrete consumer-AI devices, meaningful glasses or VR platform shifts, UK pricing or availability changes, and agent capabilities that move beyond demos into something genuinely useful.

24 September: Control Resonant

Remedy’s Control Resonant arrives the following day with final PC requirements ranging from mainstream hardware to path-traced 4K. Every listed configuration calls for 120GB of SSD storage. The published requirements set expectations; the real question starts at launch, when independent testing and player reports can show how demanding the game actually is.
